I am using AT&T phone service in Seattle, Washington. I currently have a simple phone with no data plan. I plan to buy a smart phone but won’t be needing data plan through AT&T (as I plan to use Wifi at work & home).
Would AT&T charge in any case? or in other words, would I be required to take a data plan if I get a smart phone?

I’d like a smart phone that I can use to do online school work. Which phone and service do you use? Suggestions?

The phone is a Verizon phone and it was bought at Verizon, but when you do a cell phone look up, it comes back saying it belongs to the New Cingular Wireless, PCc. Lls, I think that is it. Could that phone have internet service from AT&T being used on it? Can that Verizon cell phone number be used on both a Verizon phone and an AT&T phone?

I have a friend who is going to get sent to Iraq, and i hear there are cell phones out there that they call “unlocked” that get reception in Iraq. I also heard it depends on the service as well as effectiveness of the phone reception. Anyone know anything about this? Thanks so much.
